OUR JOURNEY CONTINUES: Angie Ruiz, current San Antonio Independent School Board District 1 Trustee, kicked off her campaign on this past Saturday, March 14, 2009, to keep her District Trustee post as our representative safeguarding our Children's future.
"It was a spirited afternoon and I want to thank all my supporters that braved the cold and rainy weather to make this a great campaign event kick-off," said Trustee Angie Ruiz.MY VISION: SAISD is an inner city school district which has gone through many changes.
Today we need change for the future of our children.
- Direct the District's budget to provide a high quality of education
Reduce the dropout rate. - Work to build an "exemplary" status District
- Establish effective and consistent communications with the District stakeholders - Our Community
- Collaborate with the City and County Officials, and our Business Leaders to leverage our resources for excellence
- Transform our schools to modern, safe, and "green" environments using the best in technology
- Promote stronger legislative actions for securing greater state revenue
OUR STORY & OUR FUTURE: The SAISD Board of Trustees are entrusted by the community to safeguard our children's education, while fostering our district's growth for our children's future. Our future lies in providing a high quality education to our children which is consistent with the needs of the community.

MY STORY: I am a life long San Antonio resident and a product of SAISD. I have worked in collaboration with our community, the City, County, and the local businesses to leverage our resources for better educational programs, productive operations, and efficient facilities.
I have brought the community voice to the District. SAISD will succeed by working as a community of stakeholders who are well informed and engaged.
I have the passion, commitment, and dedication to work with all our stakeholders. As your servant already serving on the Board, I need your help in taking action by supporting my election to the SAISD Board District 1 to continue our success and growth of the District for the sake of our children.
